The economic relationship between Turkey and the African states, is conducted by means of trade treaties. A considerable number of bilateral agreements and protocols were signed between the two entities, laying the necessary legal foundation on which beneficial economic relations could be built and promoted. As a result, a great number of African students have been studying at various Turkish universities either under a cultural exchange program or as privately sponsored students. In return, Turkey imports sesame seeds, petroleum, raw and semi-processed leather and rubber from African countries.
